I'll be out of town when USC mails its admission decisions. When the time comes, will there be a way for me to check my decision online? Will I receive an email notification?

Thanks

USC only releases the decisions by mail, which can be super annoying if you are away. Last year my brother was out of town for a week while his admissions letter was sitting at home and it drove him totally crazy.

There will be no email notification… but maybe you can check on USC Connect to see if there is any change in information?

ablove,

You can contact admissions and request an e-mail notification. They do that for international students.

Where does it say that? Just wondering so I could do the same.

LegacyMom, is this a new policy? In the past there was no email notification, but International students would receive an email from DHL that a package was about to be delivered. That was the hint that an admissions packet was on its way.

Hi madbean and USC 2016,

When my son never got the initial letter sent out in January (the one letting kids know they are not Trustee candidates, but still being considered for admission), I contacted admissions. The woman at the office offered to have his admission decision e-mailed to my son, since there was an issue with the mail. She said that is what they do for international students, since there is such a lag in the mail. (But you do have to request it.) I declined her offer, because if it is bad news, I don’t want it coming in an email. I imagine if you’re going to be out of town when the decisions are coming out, they will email you if you request it.

Thanks for the insight, I didn’t know that.
