Admissions Decisions

So will there be anymore mailings before the mass mailings. do they mail them in sets on every Friday? How are the decisions handled? Is there any other way to check online?

I called admissions last week and was told that no other mailings- acceptances or rejections- will go out until April 1. There will be no waves of mail coming out until the end. When I pressed further, I was told that some acceptances may come out before that that include scholarships from other sources like the alumni group- Town and Gown.

They may be telling everyone that just so no one will call anymore! That's why we are all here on the message boards to see if anyone else gets anything else.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh... that's so far away!!! i can't wait that long.

from what I'm aware all evidence says that all decisions will be mailed BY april 1 not until. After April 1st seems unlikely becauase of the May 1 notification deadline. If you look at last years acceptances threads mostly everybody received their notification BY april 1 but there were a few who got there decisions a little late (april 4,5,6 etc). So expect to hear from USC around mid march, just like the other UC's.

cc411: Would scholarships from "other sources" include the International Freshman Academic scholarship? I'm not sure if it comes from the Office of International Services, and if it does, if it classifies as an "other source". Thanks for any input!

ya i also have a feeling it is By april 1st not starting april 1st. either way that is too long! i hate it what they are doing to us '11ers...its like we have to wait longer than any other grade had to!

Foil-
When I called admissions, they told me that the only scholarships that they administer are Presidential, Trustee, Deans, Associate. Anything else would be in the "other sources" category. I have come to see though, that we don't always get the same information from them so you can always call and ask again and report to us here.

To reserve spots at Explore USC, and other tours and introductions to USC. Most people who have received Trustee/Presidential sign up for interviews on it via Explore USC.

wat does it mean if the stystem recognizing my id but the next page it loads shows as "broken link or w/e"

Uh... the site isn't working for you? No need to read into stuff like that.

Thank you Foil_.

I am confused. What is the difference between these two sites?

Very strange- have NOT been admitted yet but tried to log in to the two sites above. The first did not work ("We are unable to find a record...), but got in to the second one. After confirming personal info, it took me to a table to choose one of two events, "Bay Area" and "Boston". I'm in So. Cal so it is obviously not intended for me. Strange though that I was able to log in.

The first site is for admitted students. The second is for information sessions in late October 2007.
