Fine Arts Submission for non-F.A. majors

Is it possible to submit a CD with the application if you are not going to major in music, but would like to audition for the orchestra?

I’m pretty sure that would be ok (I assume W&M Admissions will post with the official answer). There are not many music majors at W&M, so you will be at home in the ensemble.

If you submit a CD with your application it is reviewed for admission purposes only. It does not carry over for an orchestra audition. Those try outs occur once the academic year begins.

If you’re not going to major in the fine arts but plan on being involved in them at W&M, feel free to make a fine arts submission as per Common Application instructions which will be reviewed by faculty for admission purposes only. You can indicate in your application that you’re making the submission because you plan to be involved with the Orchestra even though you don’t plan on majoring in music

Thank you for the info!!
