I got into North Georgia College & State University.

Although no one on here has heard of this college and it was my SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY!, it still feels good to know that you CAN & WILL go to colllege!

Thankfully, I haven't received any rejection letters.

Feel free to share your first acceptance (lol, it's probably a lot better than mine!)

I feel the same way dance - I received my acceptance letter to the University of Nebraska last week. I was guaranteed admission because my stats exceeded the cut-off for in-state applicants, but nevertheless - it feels great to have an acceptance letter in hand!

lol, i just got into Michigan state, wahoo! go spartans! It was a definite safety school for me, but still.. big relief. I'm not doomed to the freezing coldness of alaska for college anymore..

People are probably getting acceptances from schools with "rolling admissions." Rolling admissions means that the admissions offices review and decide on applications as they are received until there are no openings left in the entering class--although I think that most of these schools actually keep some spots open for later applicants so that those who apply right before the deadline will still have a chance of getting in. If you are considering a school with rolling admissions it is good to get your applicaton in early.

cooool ~~ i never knew that!!....so basically it's like..once you've had an acceptance..you already know if you have a uni or not..before applying to others...at least it saves money and a few safety school choices....

Daughter got accepted to first safety at S.W. Missouri State and got notified they are giving her in state tuition plus $1,200 scholorship. Then a week later she got accepted to Central Florida with a $6,000 a year scholarship. Wow, what a relief that she is getting into her choices. Now just waiting on Florida State, U.N.C. Wilmington and George Mason.

I recently got my first acceptance too the Engineering School of University of Pittsburgh, and their Honors college. It had rolling admissions, so I applied and heard back in 17 days, haha.

Though it is a safety, I'm happy to know that I'm definitely (barring any major, major financial issues) going to college!
