First AP Test tomorrow

I am taking my first AP Test tomorrow (World History) and was wondering if anyone could give me tips on the whole process?

I would suggest using papers from the class or study guides for the multiple choice and look up on Google DBQ and FRQ questions and practice writting an essay or two based on the DBQ /FRQ.

Do you want test-taking strategies or ways to cram?

Bring a watch (no alarm) and manage your time on the multiple choice section, do the ones you know for sure first then use process of elimination on the others. Answer all the questions; if you don’t know, guess.

Make sure your cellphone is off or not in the room (There have been some close calls from other students’ phones going off).

Bring extra pencils, a good eraser, and a good, non-smudgy pen.

Work as fast as possible during the 15 minute reading period they give you before the DBQ and FRQs. My Euro teacher says use all 15 minutes to read the DBQ documents, group them, and make a thesis. Take time to outline what you’re going to write (like 5 min) and MAKE SURE YOUR INTRO PARAGRAPH/THESIS ANSWERS ALL PARTS OF THE QUESTION (If you tend to work slowly and don’t get to finish, like me always, you’ll at least get a good amount of partial credit for the beginning paragraph)

Try to keep the DBQ to 45 min and the two FRQs to 35 min each. To get the maximum score, use almost all the documents, mention biases in four sources, and make sure your thesis is good (those are the easiest extra points to get IMO). If you don’t know how to get a 9 on the DBQ, look up the scoring rubric and memorize what you need to do now because if you don’t do everything necessary to get the first 6 points, you won’t get the extra 3.

Bring food for energy during the ten minute break they give you in between sections. Stretch out your fingers in this time; they’ll be sore soon.

As for knowledge, I’m terrible at History, especially World History. Good luck.

@onmyway2013 that was perfect thanks
