First Come First Served?

I know decisions for Pitt is on a rolling basis, but what about scholarships? I’m anxious since I applied later than others who have received full tuition or any kind of merit aid. (Late Oct and then accepted early Nov) And I’m worried Pitt might “run out” on scholarships. Is this true?

The scholarship committee takes great care to ensure that we do not run out of scholarships for qualified students. They do start reviewing admitted students in November (they have just started) and review candidates through the late-winter. The deadline to apply and be automatically reviewed for scholarships is January 15. While some candidates will hear back on scholarships before mid-January, many others will not. Our Committee will often review a candidate several times before making a decision, so it is normal for admitted students to wait until late-winter to hear. Bottom line, all students who are selected for a scholarship will hear by March 1 at the latest.

Hope that helps!
