First day of classes

I'm going to be in college next year and was just wondering if anyone had any advice about their first day...or stories :)
1. Where is the best place to sit for classes? Small, large...etc
2. Is it weird to sit down at a random table with someone you don't know in the dining hall?
3. Should you answer questions a lot your first day of class? Or will you come across "Hermione"-ish (know it all)?
4. How awkward is it to walk in late to a class? If you do, how do you walk in without drawing too much attention to yourself?
5. What did you wear on your first day? :)

Any other stories welcome, thanks! :)

Up front. Always up front.

Maybe.

No. Unless the awkward silence bothers you like it does me, then yes.

Kinda awkward.

Jeans and a t-shirt.

Middle of the back or off to a side closer up… basically wherever you feel most comfortable sitting. If you like being close to the teacher, do that; if you prefer being behind people, go there.

Maybe. (In the first week, probably not.)

Pretend it’s highschool, do whatever you do now. If it’s awkward and quiet (especially if it’s a TA or something teaching) answer things, if others are awake and paying attention, let them have a shot.

If it’s a lecture hall, enter towards the back (if you can), don’t let the door slam, take a seat that doesn’t involve stepping on people, and you’ll be fine. Basically try not to disrupt the lecture, take a seat and pretend you know what’s going on.

Clothes, same thing you’d wear any other day.
