Is tommorrow for my school! Suddenly I'm feeling the college application pressure now...agh, teacher recommendations, essays, I just have 60 days till my application for SCEA is due! I'm beginning my term as SG President tommorrow too, so nervous >_<

Anyone else want to share first day of senior year / senior year stories/feelings?

My first day of senior year was today. It wasn't fantastic. It wasn't horrible. Just don't stress about it. It's your LAST first day of school. Don't worry, be happy! =)

My first ~2 weeks have been okay... I haven't gotten a lot of sleep, but my classes are at least interesting enough to keep me awake for the most part. So I think this year'll be decent.

9 hours isn't that much, it's the average recommended amount for teens (8~10)...I need a good 10~12 (so that's...11?) daily, which I got every day summer break (and winter...to come) but since I'm a sophomore and I have school now I figured I'd have to drop it down to 9~10...sucks.

It was decent, seeing all my friends, but...the lack of summer assignments had to make the day epic (I got hardcore PWNED by 2 teachers already for being one of the very few, if not the only one without a summer assignment). And I have hw today, on the first day...that's completely ridiculous. I don't know what math/chem/eng hw is since I didn't pay attention, and I only know my french hw. I'm debating now how many subjects of hw I should do tonight (probably the 2 subjects I got pwned in).

EDIT: I just realized that I've completely highjacked the senior threads, but since there isn't one for all grades, and it'd probably be redundant to make a grade-each first day...

Why? Whenever I read comments like this I'm at a complete disbelief because you either can't manage your time, or you have an unreasonable amount of work. It's probably the former, as you shouldn't be sleep-deprived unless you have a totally inhumane amount of work (which is illegal for schools to give out for hw, as far as I know; even common sense...)
It'd still be your fault because you chose to take all those classes and do all that work, and then complain about the exact choices you've been making/have made.

I'd say it's a mixture of both. I am a procrastinator, but my teachers did assign an inhumane amount of homework over the summer. To the point that even though I worked on them throughout the summer, for the past two days I've worked on them all day until 2 or 3 in the morning, and woke up at 6 to take a shower and finish up something that I started.

And 3 hours isn't that bad. I lived off of 3 hours a night during Freshman and Sophomore year.

you get 9-10 hours of sleep?!? assuming you wake up at 6 am, that means you sleep at like 8 or 9pm ! dang I wish I could sleep that much, 4 APs are killing me already :(

^^I really think that schools have common sense and law (I think it's a district/state law here to not give excessive hw), to know and understand that high school students shouldn't be overloaded to the point of sleeping at 2 or 3.

every teacher I've had so far understands that high school kids have a life and other things they enjoy and other commitments...this should be common sense, unless you go to some kind of uber-ultra-mega-hyper-academic school where calculus signs exist in breakfast tables.

No offense, but I think you're not using your time wisely/you can't get your work done... (I've seen plenty of people with 6 AP's at GOOD schools get 7~8 hours of sleep a night with activities). Nothing of blame, sorry if I sound so. ;)

Well see... Here's where you falter. At MY school, every teacher just ASSUMES that no one else gives homework on vacations or during the school day, or just not that much. So as a result, they ALL pile on LOADS of homework all the time.

And I know I'm a procrastinator, but it's the only way I can get my work done well.

And there's that whole thing where in Frosh/Soph year I had like... Insomnia where I basically couldn't sleep until 3 and just woke up at 6 anyway, with or without an alarm.

And personally, I'm against going to sleep any time before 11PM (and by sleep, I mean getting into bed). I have the rest of my life to just go to sleep early. (Weekends, I won't go to sleep before 2).
