The majority of big, working dogs wouldn’t do well in such environment with so many people running around and ever changing faces. Commander likely felt uneasy and threatened by all this craziness around him. I currently don’t have a dog, only cats. Of all of them, only one would have done well in the White House. She is laser-focused on getting food and doesn’t give a bleep about what is happening around her. I have to push her out of the way when I vacuum the rug where she plopped down… all other cats scatter at the first sight of the vacuum!
