First it was Teresa, now its Phil...

Teresa Sullivan left Michigan to become president of UVa and now Phil Hanlon is leaving Michigan to become president of Dartmouth. Are we the cradle of university presidents? Since 1970, Michigan alums and/or faculty have left the University to become president of major universities, including Columbia, Cornell (2 presidents), Dartmouth, MIT (2 presidents), Princeton and UVa...among others.

Now that we need a president, who will we hire for the job?

Perhaps Teresa Sullivan? Her tenure at UVA hasn’t been what anyone would call smooth. Just a thought, but I’m sure that UM has already thought about this.

I am sure Teresa Sullivan is on the short list. Jeffrey Lehman could also be a good candidate. He is an alum and served as president of Cornell for a couple of years. He resigned under strange circumstances though, so that should be cleared before pursuing him.

Perhaps this guy?
