first post :D need your opinion guys

OK, ucsb is hands down the coolest school around california, i would choose SB over Cal, seriously. But there is one problem.
I am an international student (not even a year US) so, I'm in the 'fob' status. I can interact pretty well, but not as much as the 'normal' students, if I may. I am worried that I cannot go with the flow on the parties at SB. I am primarily going there to break out of my shell and live life a little. But here comes another problem. I'm only 17 (Im gonna be 18 when I transfer). And I'm a transfer student with a junior-level standing. So, the people I have classes with are not my age. I would probably hang out with them or the freshmen, but the freshmen will not be taking the same classes as I do, so social life for me at SB will be hard. So, what can you advice me to do?

PS. I am asian. -_-

Age barely matters in college. Unless you look like you're 13 or older than 35. You'll blend in just fine.

but what about the bars/clubs?
isn't there an age limit to enter? or do you often see freshmen in the clubs using fake IDs?

Everyone parties in Isla Vista (at people's house and frats and stuff) you don't even need to go to clubs/bars!

lol @ bars.

Of course you have to be 21 to enter clubs, do you have a car? Clubs are in downtown Santa Barbara, and UCSB is in Goleta. Isla Vista is where most of the house parties happen. You won't see many freshmen at all in clubs.

The DP/IV scene gets kind of boring (I haven't set foot on DP since Halloween) so downtown Santa Barbara is a nice break from that. With Bills Bus you really don't need a car to get downtown anyway.
