First semester of freshman year schedule...help needed

Hello,

I recently got back from my orientation at my current undergrad school. Unfortunately, due to financial circumstances at another school I was enrolled in, I entered this school at a late date (mid july), leaving my orientation to be the last one offered. This means most of my desired classes have been taken, and given the school isnt particularly great...not too many classes have been added to compensate for later students.

My current schedule is this:

Chem 115 and 177 (lab)
english 101
Philosophy 100
Econ 101

I wanted to take chem, bio, calc, and english but it didnt work out (im a bio major btw). I talked to an adviser and this is the best they could do for me. I can get 2 premed reqs out of the way...but it is gonna be difficult next year having bio with lab, orgo with lab, and calc in the same year (at another school too, im transferring after this year). I wanted to take physics, but it would only be non calc physics...I figured med schools would look down on it ( do med schools look down on non calc physics?...if not, I drop philosophy and take it).

What do you guys figure I do next semester? I can take anything I want next semester as I will register first...any recommendations? I really want to balance my reqs so I can have them all completed before I take my MCAT. I was also thinking of taking calc I next semester and calc II over the summer... What courses are best taken over the summer ( i know the "weed outs" like orgo are looked down upon if taken in the summer)

I know these are a lot of questions, but im a bit confused...any insight would be greatly appreciated, I know we have a lot of knowledgeable 'advisers' here.

Thanks for any input-

First off, considering I'm a bio major as well and at my school the required physics for the major is not calc-based, I don't see why med schools would look down on that.

I would recommend taking chem II, calc I, and a bio class next semester. That would leave you with orgo and I guess another bio class for sophomore fall semester. You have to get used to doubling up sciences, especially as a bio major.

Yeah, I would seriously try to get into a calc or stat course this semester or next semester. Just go bio + orgo next year with physics + upper level bio 3rd year. If you really can't get into bio or math this year, try taking it the summer after frosh year.
