First time writing an SAT essay ever.. score?

Okay i foolishly never practiced the SAT essay before and it was my first time.
For the planning and creativity i used personal experiences to agree with the quote. The quote also ended by saying, there's a difference or something between good planning and too much planning.

my question is, what do you think I would get out of 12.. if all i wrote about is as follows

intro: wrote down the quote, wrote what it meant, and why i agreed with it

body 1: wrote how good planning is when students go home when they are notified that they have an exam in 2 weeks and plan out a study schedule therefore doing better on the test and knowing more information in the long run opposed to the people who did not plan whatsoever and crammed.

body 2: wrote how too much planning like people who plan every aspect of their life from when they wake up in the morning until they go to sleep allows no creativity in their schedule because of the lack of time. they therefore are not as happy, don't have as much fun, and don't let life unravel how it is supposed to.

i dont think i went too indepth.. is that a problem.. what do you think i would get.. please!

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find that usually kids get a higher score than expected.

My first SAT, I wrote a crap essay and got a 10.

So you'll probably be pleasantly surprised...Maybe not a 12, but I wouldn't worry too much.

yeah im just shooting for a 10+ .. thanks!

Also keep in mind that the essay isn't that big a portion of your writing score.

My friend got a 9 on her essay but an 800 in writing. :O

what if you wrote 1 intro, 1 body, and 1 conclusion paragraph...but it was two pages...and the body was a personal anecdote...

is that bad?

Not necessarily?

I know you probably want a more straight-forward answer, but it's really hard to judge without reading the actual essay.

I'm sure you could get a 12 with that setup, though. :)

Your essay seems like it would be a little short. By no means am I the expert, but I hear longer is generally better. Even so, you have a solid argument. As long as you presented it in a grammatically correct way with lots of big words, you probably got a 9-10.
