Applied for it. :-)

dd is in it…loves it…meet once a week, get to see lots of behind the scenes areas, loved the work and the people!

I am interested but wonder how much time is involved. I’d like to double major Anthropology and Biology, plus continue Russian. And then there is fencing team. So is it too much to try for this leadership experience?

Caolila, I’m not in it (as you can tell) but I think the postmark deadline for the applications already passed. :-/ unless you’re a junior still?

@briguy - yep didnt see that before Thx.

Sorry, I misread the title. My dd is in FYLI…First Year Leadership Initiative. She applied and interviewed in the fall. It is not a huge time commitment and she has thoroughly enjoyed the group and its activities

What’s the difference between FYLI and the Leadership Collaborative? They seem like the same thing…

The Leadership Collaborative (LC) has their conference before school starts. You spend a few days learning about leadership, OSU, and all the amazing opportunities there. It gives you an opportunity to network, learn what that is, and meet some AMAZING people who will be very active on campus with you. Seriously, the LC was fun, valuable and they stick with you for the remaining four years.

During the school year, there isn’t an actual “club” or organization associated with the LC. It really is kinda like a prep school for your freshman year. They want you to get involved. There is a winter quarter leadership class tho…

The FYLI is more oriented towards service-learning and has similar goals as the LC. Both are great programs. I am partial towards the LC.

You probably won’t be able to do both. If you do the LC, they usually want to give FYLI positions to new people.

APPLY TO THE LC IF POSSIBLE!!
