I am going to be a freshman next year at Vanderbilt and I was wondering what a general first year premed schedule would look like. Right now I am looking at chemistry 102a and 104a (lab), physics 121a, math 205a, and math115f (writing seminar). Please let me know if this schedule is good/too easy/way too difficult and if it puts me on a good track for premed. Any advise would be helpful! Thanks!

I think you need two years of biology before you take the MCAT but I am not positive. I would be interested in the answer to your question too.

Pretty rigorous, taking 3 math/science courses. Lots of people do 3 freshman year and regret it (usually chem-calc-bio, though granted, Bio is pretty hellish). I don’t know enough about math 205 or physics 121 to say for sure though.

Practically, I don’t see advantage of taking a course like 205 right off the bat when you could take an easy class to knock out an AXLE requirement and take it another semester. But it’s up to you. You can drop it and pick up something else if you decide it’s too much during the drop period.
