Can anyone comment on the First-Year Residential Seminar? Is it worth it? The class sounds interesting, but I'm worried about the while housing situation. Who takes the FRS? Does that entry gain a reputation as being "nerdier" or "less fun" then other entries or is it just completely and totally normal?

Bump. Anyone have any thoughts on the FRS?

I’m a parent. I recall reading some negatives on doing FRS but I can’t remember the specifics. I don’t think it was about it being a nerdier group. Maybe about having to spend too much time together if you aren’t happy with each other?

I have heard that one of the problems with the actual class is that since you all live together and interact on a regular basis, the topics of class naturally come up in regular conversation, and you basically just rehash in class what you had already discussed outside of class and class time gets boring. FRS does have a reputation (kinda nerdy? I can’t exactly explain it).
