I applied as a marketing major and was accepted on the last wave but I still have not received a letter from Fisher yet. My sister, who was accepted the same day, just received a letter from Fisher saying she is pre-business. What does that mean for me? Does everyone who applied to the business school at least get in pre-business if not direct admit?
Also on the status page, it says I am MARKETING-BS but my sister it shows as PREBSBA-PR, which I’m assuming means she is pre-bus, so does that mean there is a chance I was directly admitted into the business school?
I was accepted back in November and received the letter from Fisher a few weeks later. I think it is likely that you got direct admitted into Fisher since your major is listed as MARKETING-BS.
It seems as though you are a direct admit to the business school. Congratulations !
@Publisher @MD2019crab So even though I have not received an official letter in the mail from Fisher yet, there is a chance I still was directly admitted?
Yes, but it would be wise to call or email admissions & ask.
My daughter received a letter that she was directly admitted to Fisher but her status page reads “BS in Business Administration PREBSBA-PR”
@mbs4037 I also applied to fishers but for pre business. What do you mean by last wave for admissions because I still haven’t received a decision? Does this mean I didn’t get in?
@bluevader937 I meant last wave as in the most recent release on 12/14. Don’t worry, the next wave should be coming soon.
@mbs4037 oh oh ok that’s a relief, thank you. Do you know if it’s tomorrow or the next Friday that they will do another wave of admissions?
@bluevader937 I’m not 100% sure but based on last years wave I think they release them on 1/18
Son received his Fisher direct admit letter today. Yay!! Admitted to OSU as part of the wave in December. OOS. HS doesn’t rank but 1340 SAT/94 Avg GPA. Lots of math honors and APs.
@MimiCat Congrats to your son.
You would be a direct admit if you have the qualifications listed on their web page.
@collegemom9: What are the qualifications for DA to Fisher ? I looked at a website, but only found requirements for current OSU students.
https://fisher.osu.edu/undergraduate/admissions
click on future students. I’m actually shocked that so many people apply to Fisher without knowing the direct admit requirements. It’s all right on the website.
Direct Admit to Fisher as a freshman applicant: ACT 30 or SAT 1360.
Alternative admission (DA): ACT 26 plus top 20% of high school class.
My son was accepted in the December wave and received his Fisher confirmation letter earlier this week.
Update to my original post. I was aware of the Direct Admit requirements and although I was above the ACT/SAT requirement my school did not rank. And even if they did rank, due to the competitive nature of my school I was certain that I was not in the top 20%. Somehow I was still directly admitted into Fisher which is a great feeling!
@mbs4307 School rank only factors in if you are below the required test scores.
@collegemom9 Sorry I meant to say that my scores were higher in the alternative admission- I was no where near a 1390 but I had higher than 1230. Also my sister, who originally was sent a letter saying she got prebusiness, just received an email last night saying they looked at her application once again and after holistic review they decided to admit her into the business school!
