FIT Fall 2019

Anyone apply to menswear ?

What are my chances of getting into AMC with a 3.8 GPA but not much experience in that field? Does anyone know how many people the accept for that major?

they didn’t say how many people they accept for design majors, they just stressed that the portfolio is super important. my mom was also curious about how transfer credits work there, and because you most likely have to go into an associates degree before a bachelors degree, they will still take your gen ed courses from your previous school.

I have also heard that they only accept 25 students to the Accessories Design major :frowning: super competitive.

My COA updated yesterday! Fingers crossed this means I got in

What is COA? how exactly does it indicate that you might’ve been accepted???

@dirtyrobot cost of attendance. you can find it under your financial aid status on myfit. Usually it says $0 but if it updates to the actual cost apparently it means you got in, at least that’s how its been in the past. No one can confirm this for sure though

Is “COA” only for international students? If not where do you find it?

@Queensoph no, it’s for everyone. go to “my financial aid checklist” select 2019-2020 and under “overall financial aid status” it should say your estimated COA

when i go to choose the 2019-2020 aid year it says “Based on your academic transcript, the status of your academic progress is NOT YET REVIEWED as of FALL 2018.” does anyone elses say that?

Yes, mine says the same thing.

Hello again everyone! In case some of you missed my first, I am a high school senior applying to fashion design for Fall 2019. My COA updated! I’m not sure when it did, as today is the first time I ever checked for it, but it gives me a little relief(even though I believe some people with updated COA in the previous threads were still rejected).

Question, has anyone else applied for the Presidential Scholars Program? If so, what essay did you choose? What did you think of it?

Edit: Just went back and checked again, and I am able to access the site map and class search as well.

I have never read of someone getting rejected after their COA changed…? Now I’m curious… this wait is brutal!

I always thought COA changing was a good sign

@Newton316 Sorry, I think I spoke/remembered wrong! I could have sworn that’s what I read, and looking back, I actually can’t find the post I was thinking of, so I think what I’m actually trying to say is that COA NOT being updated is not indicative of a student actually getting in or not. In other words, some accepted students didn’t have their COA updated immediately/before their acceptance. Sorry, hope this helps!

And the wait is killing me too… I don’t wanna feel too comfortable and jinx it!

@sssaaaa my COA also updated and I applied to the Presidential Scholars program as well! I really hope this means I will get in… if I still get rejected after my COA changed, I will be SO crushed. :frowning:

That makes me feel better!!! Good luck!!!

I was able to use the site map a couple days ago and now it keeps logging me out. Any advice on the matter?

That happened to us too and we called FIT. Ultimately they were going to have IT look at it but before they did it resolved on its own. Maybe so many people are looking it’s just overloaded?
By the time it worked again our COA had updated so that was worth it!!! Good luck!!!

Hey guys literally in 22 days or considerably 3 weeks we will begin to get letters ?
