I got accepted into the FBM one-year AAS program and I heard through email! I called them this morning right when the office opened and asked to get an email sent because my family is leaving for a vacation today. I received it within 5 minutes. It was dated March 23 so I am surprised the package has not come in the mail yet.
If you have not called about your application and are dying to know I would just go ahead and call them. The worst that could happen is that they say you have to wait but it is worth a shot. To all those accepted, congratulations, and I look forward to seeing all of your faces in the fall! If you are still waiting to hear back, good luck!!
If anybody accepted wants to get in contact/make a friend, message me on Instagram! My username is serenamustert.
@phoebster7 freshman advanced standing means you have taken AP or college level courses that can allow you to possibly graduate early! and the campus just means your campus location for your freshman year classes lol. all in all, it doesn’t dictate whether you got in or not, but it does tell you where you’d be if you were to get accepted!
@phoebster7 FYI: lower division is FIT’s term for the first 2 years AAS programs. They call the Bachelor programs Upper Division. Advanced standing means that you have taken an AP course.
*** To ease your minds a bit… We called FIT yesterday and got my daughter’s decision e-mailed to us. As I said b4, She was accepted. We have been stalking the mail everyday since last week… so we totally know how that feels… but just to let you all know that the mailman STILL DID NOT have her packet today and we are on Long Island. Don’t give up hope! It’s not a sign if you don’t have it yet. Its just a slow process. Also note that FIT always said mailed out by April 1st.
@anxiousmom I think I read somewhere, the insert that has the name and address on it, is sliding around in the envelope. So the post office has to do some shaking or tearing to see the address in the envelope window. It is causing the post office a hard time. I wonder if this is causing the issues.
@rialynn212 I am also a transfer, I called today and they said they’re delayed with the AMC program, they said i should call back Thursday but other people have gotten told it may take weeks. I’ve only seen maybe one person post in this thread that they’ve been accepted for the program. I would call to check on the progress of your application.
Does anyone know of an FIT parents group? I tried to find one on FB, but couldn’t so I started my own. I’m the only member so far, but if you want to join just search for it.
my daughter got into AMC. She still hasn’t received her packet yet but they did email her the acceptance letter yesterday after calling. her application was in really early - like September - well ahead of deadlines but I don’t know if that affected anything. I don’t think the COA and all that matter so don’t go crazy looking. I think I’ve seen some others post about AMC. she now does have access to her financial aid info that says “Must Accept Terms and Conditions” under #5 of the Financial Aid Checklist. Hope that helps. No letter is not bad news necessarily.
I called admissions and they told me id get my letter any day now, however, everyone in my nearby area has gotten their’s, Anyone have any idea what that could mean. Im the only one out of my friend group that hasnt gotten their letter. Admissions didnt want to give me an answer either, just telling me id get my letter… any clue what this could mean? educated guess?
@JoyG Fashion Institute of Technology Parents Group FIT (FITnyc) doesn’t seem to come up in the search. I wonder if the security settings is preventing it from being found.
