Does my daughter need to purchase a pass to use the fitness centers at MSU? In the parent email sent yesterday, there was a link to the fitness centers that detailed the prices to use the facilities ($3.00/day or a semester pass, a year long pass, etc). She would probably be interested in using treadmill, not necessarily taking group classes. Do students need to purchase a pass in order to use the fitness centers on campus? This was not really discussed during the parent orientation we attended. Thanks so much.

You either need to buy a semester pass or pay the $3.00 admission fee each time you use it.

I’m about to buy the year-long membership ($150, I think) as I do like working out.

On a side (but related to the topic), which one do you think is the best facility? West, East, or Circle?

Also, apparently from what I’ve read you have to pay to use lockers there. Dang, that sucks…

The best facility for working out is definitely West since it was recently renovated. East is a smaller version of West. Both are getting new workout equipment this fall.

Circle is not really a work out gym per say. It is more of a group activities gym that includes 2 Indoor Gym Areas, 2 Dance Studios, Volleyball Nets, Badminton Courts, Pools, etc.

LOCKERS are FREE. You are required to put a quarter in to lock the locker, but as soon as you unlock the locker your quarter is refunded.

^^^ okay, I’m glad you clarified that. I read somewhere where there was something like a semester/year locker pass, and was a little bummed when I read that.

Appreciate the heads up!
