90 minutes outside with my friend for a walk/run. Increasing the running parts a lot. Not fast, but it’s not a walk! Felt good to get the fresh air.
Despite feeling old & creaky today:
Deadlift 205 x 5 x 3
Squats 150 x 5 x 4
I reviewed some articles & today tried to get my elbows down a bit more in the squat and focus on that tight meat shelf.
%#^* golfers elbow!!!
I made it 40 miles today, but I was a slug for the last 12.
Tomorrow will be cold and maybe rainy, so if I do anything it will be inside.
Where’s @ClassicMom98? Haven’t heard from her in pages…
Coaching day so not other exercise. But I still got just about 10K of steps from walking to fields and wandering are fields during the games.
@1214mom I’m here. Just don’t feel like saying I ran and lifted and repeat every day. I still read and quietly cheer all of your successes though
I am very happy cooler weather has begun. I am now awaiting the first frost - probably in a few weeks - so my allergies will abate until March. We also have been able to get out and do more since it’s not so blasted hot anymore. Yesterday, we drove to old Salem and walked around. Neither of us had been. We will hopefully go back someday when the shops are open again.
Still a little steamy here with some rain moving in, but I got out for an hour walk/run and did some work on the TRX straps when I got home. Got some new New Balance 1080 shoes, which I really like so far.
Glad you’re OK @ClassicMom98.
I got an hour in on my indoor bike, plus I’m doing a fair amount of house work.
But, eating the Helluva good and dark russet chips may put me “negative” for the day.
Started my day with just about 2 hours of soccer. It was cold, rainy and glorious. It is always fun to look at my Fitbit when I’m done (7.4K steps, 26 minutes in cardio zone).
Even though it is rainy, we are still planning a long walk to dinner
9.8 mile hike in the hills of SE Wisconsin.
Mid-30s, dry, colors ablaze!
Those CrossFit Games! Beasts! ?
I won’t bore folks with the details, but the last event, the 12th over 3 days, was likely the most difficult in the history of CF.
There are those times over the years when I’ve felt sorry for what the athletes had to endure, like watching an Ironman and seeing someone lose control of their bowels for example.
Watching this weekend, I kept thinking to myself that someone may keel over and die, the final event reduced a few to tears, another just collapsed by themselves on a hillside, being consoled by another athlete or another competitor with blood soaked pants, TBH, I was kinda pissed at the guy running it and his programming.
It was out of control. Just brutal.
!!!
I did not know about the last event!
I just kept tab on the daily tallies!
@sushiritto yikes, miserable!
I went out of town for a quick 24 hours visit with my girls. Managed 6 miles of walking/hiking both days. Ate a few extra treats so dinner tonight was a big bowl of steamed broccoli!!! It filled me up and hopefully caught me up on some veggies!
Check in #2 for the day.
We did walk the long way to our Mexican place. We F*cked along the way (we needed to take bridge across highway earlier)and added some miles to the walk. (For DMV area posters, we took 4 Mile Run Trail and needed to divert to W&OD.)
I tried to track this part but hit a button along the way. We probably did 5ish miles on the way to restaurant.
End of the day totals.
20K steps, 9.09 miles. 4 margaritas. Also the totally bogus because of lack of fluid and food weight this AM was 0.5 pounds from changing centuries
@1214mom , LOL I don’t drink much but certainly a time and place for a good margarita!!!
Honestly the broccoli hit the spot though!!
Today may be my lucky day? 3 minutes into my run and I found a dollar on the sidewalk. Woo hoo! Several minutes later and I really needed a bathroom badly. I was in a residential neighborhood with nowhere to go when lo and behold out popped up a porta potty on the side of the road. Woo hoo! Rest of the run wasn’t amazing, but it could have been a whole lot uglier.
^^Oh @ClassicMom98 that is a great story to start the week!!!
There is an older runner in our local running club - I think she could be 80+ - she posts her run and how much $change$ she finds on the run daily. I think she keeps track of money found annually!
I ran three miles this morning outside but it was somewhat dark so no chance to see any shiny pennies!!
Good haul @ClassicMom98 ! And don’t you love when a much needed portolet looms up on the horizon!
Gloomy morning so I opted for 45 minutes on the indoor bike. Didn’t find any stray money!
