Fitness, Nutrition and Health- All Welcome (Hardcore and “Light”)

@1214mom between the election and Covid, I’m really fighting not gaining a ton of weight here! It’s very cruel!

Thanks @FallGirl. He was a “big boy” when he had to get a COVID test earlier this week, and he will get through this too. He just turned 60 this year, and has never had one until now.
I am off all of next week, and I can “catch up” on my exercise then. It looks like the weather will hold and I can get some outdoor biking in.

Tonight was a short 3.1 mile walk-we got delayed in starting because I had a job interview from 4-5 which actually lasted to almost 5:15.

@jmnva06 - It seems like a job interview going long is a good sign. Sure hope it works out for you!

I had to skip a few days of running (but did do some short Fitness Blender videos). Today I had time and great weather, so I rode the bike to the local lake trail and ran 5k. The weather was so lovely (sunny and low 60s) that I decided to run some more and did another 2.5 before biking back home. I’ll admit that after taking a mountain drive with hubby (also retired), I took a nap.

@colorado_mom – Thanks. It sounds like I might know in a couple of weeks.

Good luck @jmnva06 ! Cooler mornings many of these days, so I actually needed a light jacket for my hour walk/run today with my friend. We did 15 minutes of running at one point, so we are progressing.

The week is winding up well for many reasons, including getting all my goal workouts in.

I did walking and indoor biking yesterday, and did some walking with a friend earlier today. Wanted to walk more, but husband wanted food after his “trauma” today. So, here we are eating Italian food and drinking wine.

^^^ not a bad consolation activity @1214mom !

Just a magnificent fall day here. I did have to work from home but took advantage of the nice day to take breaks. Ran this morning, walked our dog twice and took my granddog on a nice 2.5 mile walk! Walking in a tshirt and I was warm!

Great weather here today… we prioritized yardwork “exercise” and watching the news, which has not had much new. @1214mom - My husband usually cooks dinner, but he just declared it a pizza night.

90 minute run/walk. Got going and just kept going! Longest in years, so that’s good. Beautiful day for it.

Fitbit said 7.65 miles, but I had accidently stopped it and forgot to restart, so going by my friend’s Garmin, I actually did about 8.5. This was a new route which was fun. Next week we will be running the route I did the test run on yesterday as we are trying to see some new scenery.

Our small group had a social distance outside brunch after the run to honor one of the women who is moving in a few weeks. She has really been such an inspiration to me and has gotten me to do so much more than I thought possible. It was a good day.

Road outside for 27 miles. Then went to the sporting goods store to check out indoor bikes and ellipticals. Hard trying to figure out what to get during COVID, but we are probably going to pay the crazy prices to we have winter alternatives.

No great exercise today but 8.3K steps walking around soccer fields

I’m back from my trip.

I did some press, squats and curls today just to remind my body of the barbell.

I’ll do some bench & deadlifts tomorrow then back to my regular training schedule on Tuesday.

The warmer weather and sunshine was just great for my spirits this week. It was a difficult trip and I’m glad to be back home.

Not going to lie … this week was rough food- and exercise-wise, but tomorrow is a new week.

@jmnva06 - I always figure steps counts at a minimum are “un-sitting”. But in your case there is plenty of real exercise too.

Weater was lovely today, low 60s. Per weather reports, this may be the last day of summer. So I rode the bike to the lake today and did my normal 5k run plus TWO bike loops. Ha, the ride back home was slower than usual. Not gonna lie - my legs are a little sore tonight.

It was back to being warmer this morning, and I was pressed for time so did 30 minutes mostly slow running. Maybe will get a walk in later with the doggo.

Walked 4 miles or so. It’s hot out there.

It is hot @1214mom ! H, S and I took a hike in a local park (just under 5 miles) and I should have dressed lighter. I’m going to 261 Fearless later this afternoon.
