Today turned out to be exactly 10 miles. We did the 7+ miles on a trail that followed the Federal Line and had lots of cool earthworks. We added to that walks at a bunch of other key sites. I will likely end the day at 24k steps and 266 active minutes.
Tomorrow will be a short day if roughly 5 miles, hopefully before the expected rains come
Welp. A week off of training and a stressful visit to the kid last week AND ==drumroll== today felt awful.
I weighed in 4 pounds less than two weeks ago. Not good.
Everything felt heavy and hard and that’s alarming because it’s Week One of the cycle with the lightest weights and least volume.
Press 57 x 8 x 3 – fought hard for the last rep each set
Bench 93 x 5 x 3 – felt heavy and almost failed the last rep of the last set
LTE 53 x it doesn’t matter, haha! I did 59 x 5 x 3 last time and I could not get 5 reps at 53#! It was 4 + fail. No way was I going to be able to do 8.
Curls 45 x 8 x 3
If it’s just a blip/bad day, okay. If this continues all week…gah…might have to re-set or repeat the week.
@Midwest67 chilly for California that is!!! I’ll be WISHING for 60’s soon!!
Just a stellar several days of warm weather we have had though. Got up this morning extra early so I could run before work in shorts and a tshirt! After work, 3 mile walk. Throw in 2 good pup walks and it was a good on my feet day.
@abasket Still alive and kicking here. And continue to read the thread. I just haven’t posted much lately.
I’m on a de-load week this week. So, I benched, worked on core (a combo of GHD sit-ups and toes-to-bar) interspersed with rowing, air bike and running for cardio.
Tomorrow’s WOD is called “Chad” and is one WOD that I’ve not done and actually I’ve never even heard of. It’s every simple, 1,000 box step-ups with a weighted vest of course. A long evening ahead.
When someone is getting ready for a big lift, and has success, everyone is just as supportive of the women as the men. No difference. But that’s our gym and in-person. It’s a nice community. But I get all sorts of grief for being the only CF’er, so if anything, I take the most abuse.
40’s first thing in the morning is cold. Brrr! This is CA for heaven’s sake. :grimace:
It turned cold here. Yesterday all I did was Fitness Blender 10 min arms workout - pretty easy, but I did mostly 3lb weights (heavier than previous times).
Today I meant to run, but temps were in 30s this afternoon, 10 degrees lower than the predictions I saw yesterday when I made my plans. So I switched to walking, and it was lovely to be in the sunshine. Eventually I was able to peel off the headband and gloves, pull down my zipper. I have done plenty of running in 30s, but I was not ready for it yet … especially since breezy.
I really like the weather today - bright sun, mid 40s temp. I decided to take a 2nd loop around the lake trail… so two 5k runs (with a few minutes walk/water between). Last week I added an extra 2.5k to the normal 5k, so I knew it was possible. It felt good, I think only the 3rd of 4th time I’ve done such a long run in my 3+ years of running.
Much colder today. Got out early 3.4 miles did quite a bit of running this time. Didn’t matter if we went early or late, the temperature today was a solid 36
I meant to run or walk today. Then I decided to drive somewhere with hubby and take a walk. But the wind made us to decide to just take a drive (which was really lovely getting out into the countryside). The drive took us by a favorite small town ice cream stand, and … gotta say I discovered that pumpkin ice cream is quite tasty. At least I was able to pick a size small (which they call a half scoop but seems like more). I’ll do some arm exercises tonight and then hopefully run tomorrow.
