Tell me more about this challenge. Is there a link?
It’s one of the Beachbody programs. It’s the first full one I did 4.5 years ago with good results. There’s an eating component too. It uses containers. But I don’t follow that. I’ve been happy with mine for 20+ years.
About Beachbody, I’ve been doing sit ups and thinking one day I will emerge from the ocean like a Bond girl in bikini(Ursula Andress comes to mind), it certainly gave me a lot of motivation to go through them, lol.
I went swimming today for 40 minutes, my right hip was sore when I was swimming, good sore, that’s the hip with arthritis. Normally I don’t feel any pain. So I’m going to swimming more often.
I went swimming today for 30 minutes, there were people, but luckily I was able to get a quiet 30 minutes swim.
I went swimming for almost an hour today, it’s nice weather and quiet, not a soul up that early on Sunday.
I lifted weights this week. Just kidding - it was really just rearranging basement stuff and lugging some of it upstairs for a local nonprofit request for items for their upcoming “free” garage sale. Gonna far exceed my bag-a-week goal today Timing is good since it is too dang hot to run.
Played nearly 100 minutes of soccer this AM . I think I’ve mentioned before that we get to 90 minutes and then play until the next goal. Today it took a long time.
As we were walking to dinner tonight, my wife goes “what happens if you blow on your ankle while playing soccer on Tuesday.” We leave for our hiking trip on Saturday so the fear of this is real
I don’t suppose this is any of our pickle ball players? How cool would this be?!!
I am not a paddleboarder, but use Chums to hold my prescription sunglasses on. We kayaked 17 miles in the Pacific, and rolled 3 times, and they were fine. I THINK you can get something to put on them that will actually let your glasses float, but I didn’t use that.
Funny -
We were in Buffalo NY over the weekend, and I gather several of the Buffalo Bills were in the same restaurant we were in. They passed our table, but I was facing the wall. I wouldn’t have known them even if I saw them. Many, many years ago, I was at a party in a bar in DC, for the Redskins. I didn’t know them either.
I continue to rotate through walking, biking (indoor or outdoor, depending on the weather), pickleball, and occasionally hiking, every day. Over the weekend I did a very slow 3 mile run one day, hiked to see multiple waterfalls on multiple days, walked along the edge across from Niagara Falls, and did a short beach walk along Lake Erie. During the week I try to play PB multiple times, but on the weekend I like to bike outside if possible (I’m retired, but most of my biking buddies still work).
My first job was a pool girl at the Dulles Marriott. They used to house all the redskins before the home games, and they would all hang out in the pool. My mom would beg me to let her come. I’d make her sit out in the parking lot. Lol.
Our tiny city has had a lot of NFLers. One of H’s colleagues has 3 sons in there now. And the. Another one my co-workers (different department) - her son was just drafted this year. And there have been more in the last 10 years.
Hi everyone! WhenI last posted about a month ago, I was returning to running after an interruption provided by Covid/pneumonia. Well, 3 weeks ago I tripped 2.8 miles into a planned 4 mile run and went down on asphalt. It was a major face plant (ruined my RX sungasses), and some scrapes/abrasions on my knees, hands, elbow, etc. But mostly my face! Thankfully some very kind runners stopped and helped me. I did go to urgent care to ensure no head injury. Luckily none, but my face was a mess!
I have recovered and started running and yoga again. Such is life. Hoping I stay healthy and uninjured for awhile.
Ouch- glad you are doing better
My goal with soccer this week was to not get injured and I succeeded.
We fly out on Saturday and I’m not sure how much I will post about the hike until I’m done.
Sorry to hear about that @FallGirl.
I did good in the last few days, I got 50 minutes of pickle the day before yesterday, yesterday I did 30 minutes of swimming, my husband went out and practiced shooting hoop while I was swimming. The weather here is awful, typical June gloom so not good for my tomatoes, but better weather for exercising.
Have fun @jmnva06, I can’t wait for our next trip.
@jmnva06 - enjoy your trip. I’m looking forward to hearing about it.
Oh no! I’m so sorry. You’ve had a rotten few weeks. May the rest of 2022 be better!
I did an hour of pickle ball today. I stopped when the sun came out. Today my husband and I will do yard work for my sister’s yard, mostly trimming and cut down her roses, but that counts as exercise, in fact I volunteered to do that because I get some exercise and she gets to save money.
