Yesterday was an “SBD” (Squat, Bench and Deadlift) day. I worked up to a heavy set of each (8-9 RPE), but I didn’t attempt any PR’s. It’s not the time within the 12 week cycle. And I wasn’t “feeling it.”
The 20-minute AMRAP of 400 meter runs, 4 light (50% of 1-rep max) deadlifts and 2 rope climbs. I got into the 6th round.
Today was a light day of three x 2,000 meter rows.
Today I went swimming for 30 minutes in a non heated pool, I thought it wasn’t so bad, rather pleasant after I warmed up. I forgot to buy a cap from Amazon when I put in an order recently. I like walking to this pool vs driving to the other heated pool.
But today I went out to eat and we had cake for dessert, so I’m glad I did put in some exercises.
What kind of cake? Jut kidding… it’s ok to have a splurge now and then.
I splurged a lot on a 4 day wedding trip… then got home early enough to pick up candy for the trick or treaters (and me). Was surprised to see scale down 2 lb this morn, especially since no exercise while gone except walking through airports. Probably got dehydrated. I’m expecting a delayed scale increase tomorrow.
Lemon cake with chocolate ganache, gluten free version, I filled it with mascarpone cream and lemon curd. My daughter likes all things lemon and my husband likes chocolate. It’s a good combination.
Yesterday was the parents vs kids game for my 1st graders (kids won – a shocker I’m sure) and then I played 90 minutes of pickup. Total step count was 14.5K.
I’m reminded of a time when my D20 was on a 5th grade soccer team and I may have gotten a bit too competitive in the end of season parents v kids match and ended up hip checking and knocking a girl down Luckily she was a close family friend, but I still get teased about that one 10 years later.
As for me, been continuing to do short (20-30 minute) yoga videos at 7am each morning. Played an hour of tennis on Monday (before heading to a Halloween gathering and eating too much candy) and will be playing an hour of pickleball with my lunchtime crew today. Step count has been inconsistent - not hitting 10k most days, but still trying.
The Carbmanager app is very useful. Free or ridiculously low price for the premium version.
I track sleep, steps, exercise, water intake, macros, weight, bodyfat, etc on this single app. I compete with myself on the 4 week Challenges, which makes it an easy routine. Amazing recipes and CM even keeps track of macros with barcodes for those that are really lazy.
As a 6 foot tall male, in exactly 120 days I fell from 230lbs to 178lbs and cut body fat from 26% to 13% which is the US Navy “Athlete” level using CarbManager on OMaD keto with exercise routine. It is so easy! Just set your goals and it calculates everything for you. Take control!
You can do it!
Can someone recommend a hitch two bike tray rack? I want to put in on the car, ride bikes and take it off when I get home because we don’t ride often enough to leave it on all the time. Thx.
@DeeCee36 – so funny story. To avoid running over the 1st grade sister that was about to shoot the game winning goal I pulled up, only to get tripped into from behind by one of my kids. I ended up going down hard on the side of my knee. No major damage but it certainly hurts.
Today it’s 45 degrees this morning, so no swimming in unheated pool. My husband and I got back to playing pickle ball after a long hiatus. Surprisingly we did play very well. But I stick to playing 30 minutes for now. Not getting too ambitious on the first day back.
Played 2+ hours of pickleball this morning.
It was a little chilly early, but warmed up quickly.
Tomorrow I will be driving for many hours, so I’m not sure I’ll get much exercise in.
I think my streak for closing my movement ring on Apple Watch is 210 days. I told myself when I got to 200 days I wouldn’t care any more…
Checking in. Status quo. I did my regular aerobic workout today but also dropped literature in my precinct for the upcoming election. That added about 3.5 miles to my daily activity so a double dip – civic good coupled with health benefits.
My Apple watch streak ended this week when the variant booster knocked me out. I had a 102+ fever and chills and generally miserable Tuesday.
Good and not as good today. Good - I ran my longest run in forever this morning. 13 miles. I felt good for about 90 min of it and really the rest wasn’t bad. The not so good - despite the weather forecast showing nothing, it started pouring on me 8 miles in. What? Ugh. I have some issues with wet pavement now, and sidewalks/streets covered in wet leaves is not fun. But I worried more about my phone. Grumble. I stopped at the house at 10 miles and left it in the car while I finished.
Fortunately the rest of the workout was just abs and a mobility video. I did well on the abs. Didn’t need a break to put down my knees this time. Yay. Mobility felt good but by then I just wanted dry socks and shoes
