Fitness, Nutrition and Health- All Welcome (Hardcore and “Light”)

Yes- depending on how long he’s had it, it might not show up on xrays. I go in Wednesday and I’m sure they will start with an xray and, hopefully, it will show the fracture now (it did not when I first went in, so I went for MRI) and that it is healed. Did your husband have an MRI at the beginning? If so, I would think they could start with an xray, which is certainly easier and cheaper than MRI. I didn’t have to be on crutches for my stress fracture (knee) but it was really the top of the tibia). They said crutches were optional and recommended them for longer walking (convention center etc). This was one order I didn’t follow. I just couldn’t deal with the crutches. I’ve had them before, though. Let me know what they say.

Rogue Fitness posted on IG a shift in production.

RF will begin to produce masks, gowns, & other protective gear, AND ventilators.

Hiring approx. 100 workers.

Wow.

@MomofWildChild Thank you. Yes, he did have a x ray and the stress fracture did not show up on that. They did a mri and that is how they found the fracture. He is going in on tuesday for the mri. Doc. Office called and said that they are scheduling only one person per hour for the mri.

That’s probably smart. I hope it has healed! I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to get another MRI. Hopefully, not.

Cold and dreary here. Spent the weekend cleaning and organizing the basement, opening the last of the boxes, etc… Basically lots schlepping and heavy lifting. My upper back is sore so I’m considering it a workout. Probably 10 hours between yesterday and today.

I washed the cover to our large dog bed. Getting the two pieces of filling (base and bolster) back in that cover was quite a workout!

I also noted that Rogue is halting all online orders for 24 hours in order to catch up with orders. I guess there’s a lot of people ordering equipment for their homes during the shelter-in-place.

@MomofWildChild, I hope you’re not injuring yourself!
I did about a 5 mile walk today. Talked to a couple of people from a distance.
Can I confess here than my husband and I just polished off a tub of helluva good onion dip and russet dark chips :frowning:
I’d say I’d work if off tomorrow, but it’s supposed to rain and our house will be full of painters (for hopefully their last day).

The chips and dip sounds great!

@sushiritto

Barbell Logic Online Coaching is offering a $200 gift card at one of 3-4 major suppliers of racks & bars & weights for new online clients.

Good incentive!

Oh that’s my favorite onion dip.

I’m finding that I’m basically on a steady two fitness blocks a day. Something first thing in the morning (before I start working) and once in the afternoon - fit in for when the weather is at its best!

If anyone has ever had a hankering for a massage gun but held off due to the price of the high quality ones, Theragun is having a great sale right now on all models. But the sale on their top of the line G3Pro is ridiculous - 25% off. I had bought one a while back during a similar sale but my daughter stole it from me for use by all of the coaches at our studio. I was waiting for another sale to come along so I could have one at home. Nothing like buying fitness gear to take your mind off of all the coronavirus stuff going on. She ain’t getting her hands on this one!

Yoga online today using Zoom. I had the app on my iPhone, so it wasn’t optimal. As it turned out, the instructor (one of my favorites) gives really good instructions and I didn’t really need the visuals.

Good morning. 2.75 mile treadmill run before WFH. Its a rainy day here.

Mixed bag here today. On one hand, it was hard to get out of bed after a long emotional day moving younger S out of his dorm. This wasn’t the way it was supposed to end – but yet thankful it wasn’t for another worse reason. And then, I had to face yet another rainy morning, and no stairmonster/bike as refuge. Out into the rain I went for my 9 mile jaunt, but yet I was thankful I CAN run right now. Then, into club coronagym to lift. I’ve decided to scrap the rest of P90X for workouts better suited for my home gym plus easier on the shoulder/collarbone. I’m doing the Phase 3/Peak Week of 80 day obsession followed by Autumn’s 21 Day Fix extreme. I hope after that, the gym will be open. I am so thankful to have these videos. Lifting by myself right now at oh dark thirty in a shed would be so much harder. But once I hit the play button, I forgot it all. I love Autumn and her cast. Good workout. I think the pull-overs were hard on my collarbone/shoulder though. If it stays like this (tightening in the traps/rhomboid) I’ll be OK with it.

I think the powers that be are making the decision if we have to work from home. Something I thought I’d NEVER see here. But, I’m the first person they’ve approved to just bring home my desktop and stuff. I have too much weird high powered software. Setting up a laptop would be a royal PITA and they don’t have enough for everyone, and finance gets priority. However, my computer is not wireless and will need to be wired into my modem in the den. That’s not an issue for the most part, but I can hardly wait for my first videoconference. In the background will be H’s 5 arcade games.

This!

I’m happy to have a location of that gym in my basement featuring a 13 y.o. treadmill, a bike, a small portable rower and a few hand weights .

I am new to this thread but you all are very motivating!

I am trying to get some semblance of an exercise routine put together but there are a lot of things I can no longer do. I posted this on another thread yesterday, but I had a really bad accident last summer and was unable to walk for 4 months. My ankle was fractured in 5 places and had to be surgically reconstructed.

Needless to say, I lost all of my muscle tone, I gained weight and I still do not have full range of motion in my leg. I will never be able to run again and even now I can only walk a few miles before it becomes too painful.

Today I did the row machine (we have one at home) and that went pretty well. I Usually Have physical therapy 3 days a week, but they have asked us to do our exercises at home if we can and not go into the center to protect everyone for COVID.

I am enjoying getting some ideas from your posts!

Thanks for the info. Their standard coaching program is $219/month? That’s pretty pricey, even here in the SF Bay Area.

Saturday’s workout did indeed lead me to the local track, where, after a couple warm-up laps and stretching, I proceeded with a 30-min HIIT workout of run 400m runs and then do 10-reps of either thrusters or snatches with lower weight. And then with heavier weight, 400m runs of thrusters and cleans. Ultimately 6 rounds (5 mins per round) with changing weights and rest.

And then I finished up with low weight/high rep deadlifts and then laying down for glute bridges and a scaled version of toes-to-bar (no pull-up bar at this track).

Sunday was a rest day.

Today, I may go in search of an outdoor pull-up bar since I’d like to keep doing muscle-ups. I don’t have the ceiling clearance with my at-home squat rack and pull-up bar. My barbell and plates stay in my car full-time during this shelter-in-place period. There’s a soccer field about 20 minutes from home, where my older D played, that had one many years ago. I wonder if it’s still there. To be continued…

Welcome @LTmomof2 . Let us know how we can help you with your exercise program. It sounds like you went through a lot!

Sushi- sounds like a good workout. I guess we have to do what we can.

2.5 miles on my home treadmill this morning- mainly slow running. 2 more days until I (hopefully) get permission from the doc to do what I already started doing.

Thank you @MomofWildChild! ?
