if u wish to use the gym, must u get some kind of membership and pay monthly fees or is it included into the cost of the college?

It better be included in the cost of Tuition. It freaking costs 20G. the least they could do was throw in the gym membership.

I think you do have to pay to belong to the gym.

Here is the website that lists the facilities. It says membership required but when you go to the page to check it out you need to log in. Which is not very helpful. I do not understand what is so secret about the prices. But at least you can see what facilities they have.

Somehow I got to a page that shows:

Summer 2006: $38.00
Fall 2006: $41.00
Fall 2006 and Spring 2007: $78.00
Fall 06 and Spring 07 w/Assessment: $176.00

fall, spring... and what about winter?.. anyways so i guess it does cost but is cheaper than a reg. gym fee

is PSU on a quarter system?

Summer 2006: 04/15/06 to 09/15/06
Fall 2006: 08/15/06 to 01/15/07
Fall 2006 and Spring 2007: 08/15/06 to 05/15/07

No, semesters. "Fall" runs from August until the Christmas break and then "Spring" begins in January and runs to May.

Fall + Spring is 70-80 bucks. That's about 8 months of gym membership. That is WAY cheaper than any gym fees you'll see at a regular gym facility.

That is still pretty STUPID that they make you pay for stuff like that. Shouldn't it come with tuition or room and board.

Do we have to pay for internet also???

I agree. Charging students is lucking fame.

We stopped by the main fitness center on our visit and it was pretty crowded. We also noticed ropes for lines (like they do in Disney World), making us think that the place gets really overwhelmed sometimes. We were told that another facility will open in fall 2006. Based on what we saw, I think they charge a nominal fee to keep the crowds down. Free services would bring everyone out and I don't think they can handle that. Part of going to a huge place I guess.

there are several gym facilities on campus, the white building houses the main one. it's busier at certain times of the day. if there is a line its not usually too bad and moves pretty quickly. they put a limit on the number allowed in the gym so that once you are in you don't then have to wait in lines for machine use.

the fitness membership is for all the on-campus facilities and also includes the pool and a ton of different aerobic classes.
