<p>Hey, so Hopefully is you are looking at this, you have received your letter of acceptance to FIU for the fall term of 2011. Congrats. So I hope this thread can be used to ask questions on what to do next or build some friendships. I am out of state and currently live in Maryland. I move down in July to start my freshman Year. Super excited. Go Panthers!!</p>

<p>I got accepted too but for Summer 2011. My first choice is the University of Florida though and I’m still waiting to hear from UCF and UM. If everything goes well I will be attending UF but still I want to congratulate you and wish you the best of luck. I have many friends that attend FIU and they tell me it’s a good school and you’ll love Miami because it is a lot of fun!</p>

<p>Congrats to both Alicia and ssmarty! First off, starting off in the Summer is way better in the fall. In the summer classes are smaller, and you have an advantage over the others in the Fall. You know more or less where the classes are and you get college credits from taking classes in the summer. FIU is THE BEST college in South Florida. Congrats on your Acceptance!</p>

<p>I got my acceptance letter last week. I’m so excited to start school there in the fall. I love Miami!</p>

<p>I also got admitted. I currently live in Dallas, TX and went to visit FIU. I loved it! It became my #1 choice. I’m still interested in that, but the don’t offer any out-of-state scholarship oppertunities. That sucks! lol</p>

<p>I recently applied last week and I have yet to send my transcript because my school has been closed for a whole week.
STATS:
GPA: 3.967 (unweighted)
SAT: 1030/1600 1530/2400(low)
ACT: 24 (taking it again Feb.)
Do you think I have a chance?</p>

<p>I must admit it is exciting to see other people really interested in FIU from out-of-state like me. Even cooler to see fellow Texans! Definitely good to know there will be a few others in my shoes :slight_smile: But I must admit I am extremely excited. Woo Panthers!</p>

<p>I got my letter of acceptance too, I’m so stoked to get down to Miami! I can’t wait! I have no idea what to expect, but I know it’s going to be an awesome time.</p>

<p>I was accepted in the Summer term ! I am so excited to go to FIU. I am incredibly nervous though. I am the only person I know that is going to FIU in my senior class, so I hope to meet new people and have fun</p>

<p>@BriaGarvin: I am the same exact way. No one from my highschool is going to FIU. So I am alittle nervous as well, but I am excited to meet new friends. I am going to try to join in the clubs and activities around school. And, I heard in the Summer, you are put in the FYRST program. So that will give you the chance to meet some people!</p>

<p>Panther camp is another way also. It is a 3 day camp in central Florida with only undergrads for $65. It takes place about 1 week b4 we start</p>
