<p>I was planning on taking the CASE for placement into a higher level Spanish course during Orientation. However, I figured that since I already have the credit it would be wasted time to continue taking Spanish intead of fulfilling other CALS requirements. I searched for the Cornell's AP Credit Policy and it does not state any information regarding obtaining credit for Spanish instead it says that placement would be determined by the Romance Studies Dept.
My question: Do I get the credit for getting a 5 on the AP Spanish Lang. exam or do I simply get placed into a higher level course?</p>

<p>i know for ILR i got 3 credits (elective) for a 5 on the spanish ap exam</p>
<p>i also took the CASE (even though i’m ILR) because I needed to take 1 more course in spanish in order to be considered for my IR minor (which requires profiency + an upper level course)</p>
