two major flaws/complaints i have heard are the following:

1) asking if you have thoughts of harming yourself out of the blue...they need to figure out a better way to ask this question...

2) asking if you're pregnant (i'm a male so not a problem for me)

it seems that CAPS only cares if you're suicidal...not everyone is but that does not mean suicidal students dont have the same problems that others do...

campuscsi, I’m just wondering. are you just going to complain about every single thing there is at Cornell? I’m wondering why you are there because you surely don’t seem to be happy about it.

why do people on this board get mad when 1 person speaks badly of cornell? 1 person is not even 1% of the population there…

point i was trying to make was whether or not cornell has looked at changing the ways these health professionals approach students on their mental well being :<

what was the point of that calculation? i can only think of one college in the entire country where 1 person makes up more than or equal to 1% of the population.

and i think its positive that cornell is asking this questions, maybe a student just wants to know if anybody at all cares about their well-being.

and if you’re not here, why does this matter to you? is this really different from counseling anywhere (actual question)?

getting asked if youre pregnant is one of the top 161 things to do before you graduate, male or female…

What are you talking about? This is absolutely the right way to phrase the question. This kind of thing is not something you beat around the bush about.

As I just noted in another thread, Campuscsi, aka ResurgamBell (maybe), wrote in another thread that he was on his “2nd academic leave from Cornell.” So while he may not be there now, he was, and possibly may again be down the road, a student at Cornell.

i hope my academic status has nothing to do with what many of you think are my negative images of cornell. i try to speak out on issues i and more than one other person have discussed. if it seems biased i apologize.

i’m totally in support of the ilr school and cornell’s academics. most of the flaws i’ve pointed out have been in regards to non-academic functions :)

campuscsi----You are a Cornell student on a leave of absence. You have valuble insight that The president of the university could use. I hope you will consider putting some of those concerns on paper and share them with the people who have the power to effect some changes.

As far as being negative…I think when a student is in the middle of their studies they may be too caught up in what needs to get done on a daily basis. You sound negative because right now you are negative, and it is for that reason that you should consider putting it to good use. You understand what other students in need of a break may be going through. I hope you will consider it.
