Hunter boots seem to be the preppie boot right now but I also found these Kenneth Cole Tropical Storm Boots and they are cheap:
Bean Boots! 
If you can get them. They’re waterproof and are worn on college campuses everywhere by both men & women! Though I will say, I’ve yet to see a pair at Tulane.
My kid would never, ever wear them. He’d slop through in flip flops and shorts before he would wear Bean Boots, I’m afraid.
I was joking. I work for LL Bean. My kid won’t wear them either.
