Florida 2017 HS students: how many questions did you miss and still made it to semifinalist status?

Hi all (parents included),
I’m on child #2, he’s a junior this year. Since I cannot go by how many questions child #1 missed on her PSAT test, I’d like to get feedback from you.

How many questions did you miss?

I know that every year the qualifying score changes. However, I am hoping that the change from the 2017 graduating class to the 2018 class won’t be so great.

We are trying to get an idea of how many questions DS can miss to have a chance to be considered a semifinalist next year.

Thanks for your responses.

So no takers on this one, eh? Does that mean that you’re all in the dark as much as we are?

There’s probably not a lot of traffic on this board now that the frenzy has died down, and by specifying FL you may have made some people pass by.

Maybe try asking on a board/thread that gets more action. Keep in mind that even if you do get answers (like “I missed X questions and got a 218”) the total of questions may be less important than which subsection they were in.

I don’t know that we ever looked at S’s results closely enough to see actual missed questions, so I can’t even give you a data point, sorry.

I missed 5 (1 math, 1 English, 3 reading) and got a 1500 and 224. So you can miss more than that at least
