so.
hit me.

Sounds pretty solid. You have just as great a chance as any other competitive applicant to the ivies. I think you have the best chance with Georgetown out of those top schools bc they love polit sci ppls. I dont know about the rest to help you out.

Congrats so far on everything you have done so far!

Good luck

Wanna chance me? It's the BU, BC, Harvard one

sure! I've already replied to your thread.

Thanks. Georgetown is the one that I want to go to the most, too. thank you for your best wishes! :D

your stats are very respectable indeed. I think you have a good chance of getting into one of your reaches atleast. Then again, and im sure youve heard this millions of times, ivies are never sure. Chance me? since you seem so nice:)
'chancing me is the new requirement of getting into ivy' lol thats my topic

I would say that you have a solid chance at all the ivies, but lack somewhat any uber-distinguishing characteristics - so I throw you into the cesspool marked "it's a crapshoot" and "it's a reach for all" that seems so common on CC chances threads! Muahaha!

Besides that you seem to be a strong candidate and I would not be surprised if you were accepted to at least one of the top tiered schools of your choosing. Great grades, GPA, and wonderful ECs!

Oh, and would you care to chance me also? I think my thread fell off this page and landed on the second one; it's marked "decent GPA, SAT, not so good EC."

sure, I'll get back to you guys as soon as possible; I'm in a bit of rush here but I'll make sure to chance you guys :)

^bump! Don't tell me "FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER" is not an eye-catching title!! D:

srsly though, you have nothing to worry about, i know no one with no stats is guaranteed into harvard, or yale
no one has a high chance than ppl with ur stats

Nice.... I like that ... SPAGHETTI MONSTER!! Caught my attention!!

Can you chance me too limetime? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/538677-please-chance-me-i-d-really-really-appreciate.html

You sound like an interesting person ... show that in your essays!

Stat wise, your SAT I is astounding, SAT II is very good, GPA is high, and your extracurriculars ... is out of this world, and you demonstrate leadership.

Chances: (the ones I know more)
Harvard and Williams - reach
Dartmouth and Wesleyan - slight reach/match
Pomona - match
Maryland - safety

I'm gonna say that I'm a bit conservative with chancing, because ... I'm not an admissions officer. Harvard is very difficult to predict ... as with all Ivies apparently. Do good (well) on your essays and you're pretty good ... you're better than me already, both in academic performance and creativity. Creativity is a good thing to have in life.

Good luck with your apps!

Obviously all your numbers are great...for places like Pomona, Williams, Macalester your essays need to set you apart from the crowd. With stats like yours, you could afford to take a few risks, though, when it comes to your essay...so don't play it safe and write a boring essay.

haha flying spaghetti monster is from South Park!
Go God Go.. the best episode ever.

I'm def not qualified to chance anybody. I don't even know where I am myself...

but yes, you'll be fine. good luck!

hey. all listed above is very respectable.
i say you will at the very least, get deferred in yale scea
and at least get accepted to one the top 5 difficulties one
please, go on to do great things : )

@ab2013

Sure, I'll make sure to chance you. Truly, definitely, absolutely.

@ colly

:D lol I do have a radical idea about what to write in my essays, but I was thinking that maybe I should do the traditional "that was when I realized that I wanted to find the cure for cancer.." types of boring essays because HY are sort of...conservative. But I think I'll err on the more rebelliou--er, I mean, creative, side.

THank you all so much for your helpful comments! :) I really, really appreciate them.

^bump. maybe I should go for a more interesting title??

Flying Spaghetti Monsterics are very under-represented in Ivy League schools, you'll definitely have a great chance! Just dont apply to University of Kansas.

Veeery respectable numbers. Your ECs could use a bit of refinement (cut out needless points) but your debate experience definitely adds to your pol sci cred.

I think you still have yet to define yourself as a 'specific' student, your recs and essays could be just the ticket. I think if you do that you'll have as good a chance as anyone at the ivies, and Georgetown really SHOULD snatch you up. =D definitely a fit there.

Oh and a note, I'm bamboozled by your 4 in Gov. and 5 in USHistory. I took the government test sort of on a whim (without a class) and made an easy 5, while my APUSH course was crazy intense and while I had the best chance out of anyone in my class to make the top score I ended up with a 4. Standardized testing, eh?

uve got as good as chance as anybody in terms of academics. guaranteed, ur gonna get into at least one of those ( =P ), so dont fret and own those essays!

@Nathaivel

Yea, I know!! I came out of that AP gov test smiling and thinking that it was easy as hell, and I came out of that AP US History test thinking that it was the hardest **** I've ever taken, and the scores came out weird!! I think it had something to do with curves. :P

^bump bump.

^bump bump bump? D:

I think you're definitely in the running for all your schools.

You have a lot of debate accomplishments and that will bump you up. I think the main thing I like is that your activities, studies, and interests are very consistent. It's obvious that you are very focused on that major in philosophy/history/government; all your activities have shown that.

:) Good Luck!
