<p>I waned to know how the school spirit is at SMU? What are the big sports? Do people go to the football games? Is it true that the girls get dressed up in dresses and pearls to go to the football games? I'm looking for a school were the students have school spirit and I was wondering if SMU falls under that criteria.</p>

<p>SMU students are passionate about their school! Football is huge at SMU, but then again football is the favorite sport in all of Texas. Basketball is also big - we got Larry Brown as our head coach recently and the team is doing really well. Yes, people go to football games! A lot of students here take pride in dressing well for football games, its something unique about game day at SMU. School spirit definitely extends beyond sporting events too, when you come visit campus you will likely have total strangers shout “Come to SMU!” or “Pony Up!” at you.</p>
