<p>Had a question about NAPS football...Can anyone go out for the football team at NAPS? And if they have a good season, could they be considered for the USNA football team once at The Academy even though they were not recruited?</p>
<p>I think most football players there are recruited. NAPS has long been thought of as a place where recruited athletes who got in based on athletic ability go to get extra help before USNA. I`m not voicing an opinion on the matter, simply stating what many think. Regardless, many recruited athletes do go to NAPS, and play ball there, and then at USNA. Football is NOT a sport that accepts many, if any at all, walk-ons.</p>
<p>I suspect CE has it pretty much spot on. NAPS football is not intramural, lots of studs there. Conversely as for walking on? The answer is simple. If you’re good enough, they will LOVE having you at either/both NAPS and USNA. So the short answer is this, “yes” altho it’s particularly tough for girls. Unaware of any who’s ever made the team.
