Hey, I'm just wondering if, as a student, you are guaranteed tickets to the home football games at IU. I know many other schools do guarantee tickets but since IU is a larger institution I am wondering if they cannot guarantee tickets to all students.

And, if anyone also has information regarding this same question but with basketball, please let me know.

I should say though that at the game last week, the student section was practically full because they gave out free tickets to all freshmen. Tickets are guaranteed if you want to sign up for season tickets. If you want individual game tickets, it is guaranteed all but to two games - PU and OSU. It is more difficult to get tickets to the Purdue and Ohio State games, where there is a HUGE non-IU crowd that comes to the stadium and the stadium is filled to capacity. These are the only few games where you have to get tickets before hand.

Basketball tickets are always sold out (you can't buy them individually, you have to buy season tickets), however if you want season tickets you can get them. IU has about 7000 student season basketball tickets available, a huge number. However, with that comes poor seating. More than 1/2 the games will be in the balcony, and 1/4 of them being in corners of the arena with poor sight lines. I only had 1 game last year that was on the court. Luckily for me it was the UW game, and I got to rush the court (even though I didn't see the point, as we were favored in the game).

Basketball games have assigned seats. You rotate your seats, sitting in different seats in different areas every game. For one game they will assign you the floor.

Student section at football games is fun, I believe it will get even better this year because we have a good team for the first time in years and should go to a bowl game.

Really? Do you think they will continually get better? I'm probably going to be going there in 2 years (09) and would love love love if they had a good FB Team..
I would love to go to a school with a good FB team haha. So much more fun to cheer for a good team, at least in my experience with non college FB
