For all of you Freshies 7A/7B Physics discontinued

<p>If you are a Bio Major/Physics/Chem/Engr/Comp Sci (not ICS), the 7A and 7B physics classes are not offered anymore due to cuts. If you don't know what these 2 classes are, they are the intro physics classes for engineers and scientists(calculus based). So I guess everyone would have to take the 3 series.</p>

<p>Please be advised that Physics 7A/7LA and Physics 7B/7LB are being
discontinued. The last time these courses will be taught is this
summer (7A/LA is offered Session I, 7B/LB is offered Session II). If
you plan to repeat these classes, summer 2010 will be your last
chance. As a reminder, the Department considers any grade above an ‘F’
a passing grade, so you may take the next course in the Physics
sequence as long as you have a ‘D-’grade or above. As always, you may
choose to repeat a course only if your grade was ‘C-’ or below.</p>

<p>Well… isn’t that something… Freshman are only barely going to get a chance to get into physics 3 unless they increase the number of classes. School of BioSci juniors to-be usually fills it up spring.</p>

<p>Yup. That’s what I was wondering, how are they going to take physics if 7a/b are going to be discontinued. All because of these budget cuts. Hopefully they increase the number of classes as you said.</p>

<p>Ah…so it is true. I’m so glad I finished up it last year as sa freshman. 7 Series was really tough, IMO. I strongly suggest you freshman take summer session to boost your units so you can have an earlier enrollment window!</p>

<p>chances are, all the freshmen will take 7c, 7d, 7e their frosh year.</p>

<p>and i thought the 7 series was pretty easy/fair.</p>

<p>That’s true, I was unaware of physics 7C. It’s basically A&B sans thermodynamics according to the catalogue.</p>
