for all you top collegers

OK, guys. I don't know whether or not you have seen my "venting" thread (do search cuz im not quite sure where it's located). Anyways, it seems to be a success and the people who use it seem to enjoy it. So, I have decided to start another thread (on the Ivy, top college, and college admission forums) to help soothe the emotions of the over-stressed CC'ers. Simply put, anyone on these forums who has gotten into any ivy league schools (or something comparable) and tell of any competitions they DID NOT win, any tests they DID NOT ace, etc. Bascially, show the frazzled CC'ers that you are human, that you are not god. Thanks to all who respond!

P.S. I am one of these CC'ers who could use this.

I've been rejected from 7.5 thingies.
1) the orchestra I was in 11th and 12th grade. (rejected in 10th grade)
2) young musicians foundation debut orchestra camp the 3rd time I auditioned (first 2 times, I got in o_O)
3) young musicians foundation chamber music series
4) RSI (duh)
5) MITES
6) Caltech YESS
7) MIT
7.5) Waitlisted Caltech

I got 650 on Japanese SATII. For those of you who think that's a highish score, it's the bottom 30th percentile for Japanese. I'm not a native speaker so...
There's prolly more but I can't remember right now haha

I got kicked out of my position in my school's student body (which I had since grade 9) in grade 11 (a new counselor had come who had gotten to know everyone when I was on vacation-I got the position back in grade 12)
I got a 660 in writing on the only time I did the SAT.(My total was a 2160)
I got rejected by MIT and Pton and waitlisted by Cornell

I peed in my pants when I was three.

umm...

Wasn't accepted into IB at another school
Wasn't hired at a school district television show

=( i still cry over that..

I didn't make it into our area's youth orchestra three years in a row.
...I peed my pants (only once!) when I was ten...

scored 520 on reading part of SAT (both times)
didn't make president of Junior Achievement.

yup. that's it.

buuuuuuuuuump

I once peed in my pants when I was nine, I think. Our class was doing an art day and there wasn't any time to go because we had to finish our paintings quickly and let them dry and the bathroom was far away and the teacher was busy and ignored me raising my hand for a long time and it was very traumatic.

I got rejected from TASP, as in fully rejected without even making the first cut, and that showed me how much work my writing needed.

The first AP test I took was European History, I went in thinking I'd ace it, and wound up with a 3. I realized that APs aren't necessarily that hard, but you need to study for them, and got scores of 5, 5, 5, and 4 the next year.

My main EC on my college applications was policy debate. I've debated for four years, tried as hard as I could, and still wound up with a losing record.

Going into high school, I planned to play baseball throughout my four years and figured that top colleges would look at me and think I was so cool. I wound up getting cut from the team two years in a row and settled for a casual rec league instead.

Oh, and I'm a true fan of the Kansas City Royals, the perennial laughingstock of Major League Baseball.

i got a 1 in AP Comp Sci AB, but uh, colleges didnt know about it since there wasnt room on my apps to put that (there are about 6-12 spaces for AP classes taken or will be taken). haha on the other hand... my harvard interviewer asked about AP scores in his first question and I mentioned my 1 first.... he's a programmer for LexusNexus. yikes.

also. i never entered any science research competitions even though i was planning to.

i never peed in my pants.

poop is funny.

royals fan, that takes guts, atta baby jim.
