For everyone who submitted their app

lishnik: yeah u have to pay, or buy the book. U can see most of the lists, but only the rankings, not the stats. Not like business, engineering schools, i think, just Unis, LACs, Comprehensive Cols etc. U can PM me or others if you have a FEW questions about a specific school, or set of rankings, or u could just give US News their money.

whartonalum: this is your field, man. interviews, you're the know-all for this stuff! C'mon, we always need the voice of reason/reality ;)!

Anyone else get contacted for an interview?

Mine's on the 8th at Starbucks, and the alum has been doing this for 15 years, so I'm a bit scared.

Hopefully a latte will give me some much needed energy........and hopefully I won't be bouncing off the walls from the caffeine.

I really like everyone on this board; It'll be terrible when some of us get in and some of us get rejected (:( it's bound to happen).

I'm such a downer........

i'd love an interview, personally. I'm desperate for one, in fact. A chance to explain all this in person, rather than online.

NO. NO. Its not bound to happen! We can all get in! I will not resign to defeat until i see it with me own eyes.

Just don't be hyper in the interview, helix ;)

i haven't been contacted for an interview T_T i hope i am soon though!

and yea, that's true - i'm one of the first in line waiting for "the letter" >.<

i'm right there with u. It's not a line, though, its a queue. Its very bad english to refer to a queue as a line. Pet peeve of mine ;)

you shouldn't have too much trouble getting an interview, 26e. You've got a 1 in 2 chance:)

YES, we all can get in........wouldn't it be amazing? And then we could have a whole get together of CC Penn people, and get to meet everyone. This has become my surrogate college family in the past few weeks.

I'm one of those people who are very affected by coffee. I start talking at 1000 mph and laughing hysterically and moving around. It gives me a boost right away, so I'll definitely try to keep myself under control. Being hyper would NOT be good, lol

bad english? america has butchered english enough that good english doesn't really exist in the US anymore - it's now just american lol

ok, I spent four days in Nashville with 2 girls who were nuts to begin with. suddenly they find a starbucks? I've never heard someone talk so fast. And jumping on the bed, running around. Madness. MADNESS!!

be careful....

y do i have 1/2 chance?

the Penn CC survivors club @ penn ;)

Usually, half of the applicants get interviews, so 50%.

I'm actually eager for those sleepless nights when we all post the number of hours left, then minutes, then seconds, then ABSOLUTE ANARCHY as everyone posts decisions........I'm weird like that

yeah, but sometimes thats just addition/subtraction of words, and mispronunciation (sp? ouch), which also drives me batty. But to simply ignore a simple semantic matter really annoys me

oh yeah, MASSIVE stress, followed either direct depression or projected depression.

Unless we all get in! :) ;) :D

Am I the only one that doesn't want an interview haha?

um........yes

why wouldn't u?

wow...sorry. the only time i've ever used queue in conversation was when speaking french or thai. i guess i'll add it to my english vocabulary now too~~

for it to be a line, it has to be STRAIGHT. I, for one, have never seen people form a straight line. Even if they did, i still dont think it would be good english. A queue is when you set yourself in an order to do something (bad definition, but its late, whatever)

oo, it's only 7 here ^_^

i'm jealous. idk why, that just means i'd be staying awake 5 hours MORE. i really want 7 hours sleep soon. I'm gonna purge so bad friday night, after my soccer game. my sleep schedule: 11*30-2 PM

haha, don't be jealous ~ i have midterms this week >.< and the added stress of having to turn in the app did not help in the least

I wish i could get an interview, I am in a district in florida that doesn't have a nearby alum, and they won't let me go to Sarasota or Orlando for one...Stupid rural town, i just hope that being from a rural area gets me in!!!

A few Questions:

Are interviews given on a completely random basis or is it a good sign if you are contacted?

Also has the interviewer seen any part of your application or know anything about you?

What is the proper attire for the interview? The interviewer sounded very casual on the phone.
