For freshmen: how are your work loads?

I'd like to start a thread for freshmen in college as of Fall 2012 - the 1st semester is winding down and I'd like to check in with you all!!

If you could, please include your school and approximately the number of hours a week you spend devoted to homework/studying, which kinds of classes you're taking/major, and your general academic experience if you'd like.

I'll go first. I go to Beloit College in WI and I'd say I spend about 35 hours a week devoted to school work, or an average of 5 hours a day. When I'm preparing for a test it'd be a bit more than that. I'm taking humanities classes and social science classes, and I want to declare in anthropology.

My general experience has been far above satisfactory with the academics. All of my profs know me, I'm pulling decent grades, and above all else I've learned a lot - my interest in anthro has grown so much in ways I did not expect. I'd say the only thing about academics that disappoints me is that the variety of classes isn't as diverse as bigger schools and getting into desired classes can be stressful because of the small sizes.
