thanx jai... I have heard that International Students who require fin aid r rarely accepted in places like Cornell. Will it be good if I will mention in my form that I can pay around US$ 30000 for my education?

well if you can afford to pay US$ 30,000 per year then it will definitely improve your chances. Do mention it if that's what you'll be paying. But think again... it's $120,000 over four years. worth it? you decide.

I meant 30000$ for all four yrs.. :D

oh...

won't do as much for your chances.. but yea u'll be better off than internationals with similar stats applying for full (or close to) scholarships.

pretty obvious i think :D

Yes certainly these places want gud students..they want 70%+ aggregate or else why would they admit ..they are the best places to be in......

For A-levels you need a GPA, but for CBSE and other Indian state boards it isn't necessary and all colleges understand Indian schools pretty well so it won't be a problem.

I don't think you need a GPA for A-levels! At least that's how it is with Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) A-levels. You can simply include your grades. Since you don't generally take too many subjects in A-levels and the grades are only from A-E (passing grades), converting to GPA would not give a good measure.

And US colleges know A-levels pretty well too... many even give you college credits for higher grades in some subjects.
