For Mech. Engineering, CMU, Lehigh, or Cornell

I was accepted at CMU and Lehigh, and accepted into the Asa Packar Scholar program at Lehigh, and I was waitlisted at Cornell. So 2 situations.

If Cornell doesn’t take me, which is better? Lehigh or CMU for Mech?

If Cornell does take me, is it really any better?

Don’t bring money onto the table, I’ll figure that one out later. Just based on the quality of education and student life.

My 2 cents says CMU...Lehigh isn't as widely known...and that's what you're banking on, right? Besides check out US News and World Report.

I'm not entirely concerned about how "well known" the universities are. IMHO, there are many "hidden gems" out there. Although tthere is a trend that univesities with stronger programs are more well known.
