I am considering becoming a for-profit college student. I heard that a lot of for-profit students have difficulty in paying back debt and struggle financially after college. I was wondering why a lot of for-profit students had so much difficulty paying back debts? (is it because the out-of-pocket expenses while in college make it harder to pay off loan repayments?). And I was also wondering what methods people currently use for dealing with this financial burden?
Definitely don’t do it. It’s a scam designed to part you from your money.

There are legitimate for profit schools. However, in most cases, there are more affordable public options available to students, with classes that will transfer if you need to change schools. Can you tell us why you are considering this particular school?

Some of them may be more like scams to part the government from its money (Pell grants) using the students as unwitting enablers and collateral victims of the scams.

You are a low income student. In absolutely NO WAY should you consider a for profit college. Look at public universities in your state.
