For Rutgers NB, does it require both SAT and ACT scores? Or can I only just send my SAT scores?

I am like super confused because I have my SAT score all ready and outta nowhere my friend comes up to me and tells me we have to do submit an ACT score for Rutgers too. I looked it up online and it said this: “Students are required to submit SAT OR ACT scores…Rutgers has no preference about which examination a student submits…We recommend including Rutgers as a receiving institution when registering for the SAT and/OR ACT”. I am super confused because I feel like it leans towards you need both of the exams but then also leans towards you can just use one. I’m super stressed out 'cuz now I probably have to do the regular decision instead of my planned early action.

Seems clear you need an SAT or ACT, you do not need to take both. From Rutger’s website:

SAT/ACT Scores

Students are required to submit SAT or ACT scores if they are currently enrolled in high school, or if they graduated from high school less than two years ago and will not have at least 12 subsequent college credits completed with grades by the application due date. Rutgers has no preference about which examination a student submits.

All SAT and ACT scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to Rutgers.
Unofficial test scores cannot be accepted.
When requesting scores, use our SAT code 2765 or our ACT code 2592.

We recommend students send all their SAT/ACT results to Rutgers.
The SAT essay and ACT writing component are not required.
