For Stanford, should I do Early action or regular decision?

I'm applying to Stanford, and I think I may have a fairly good shot. But I don't have my personal statement or short essays written. Should I EA or Regular Decision? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Also, tips on how to write stanford's short essays would be greatly appreciated.

Stanford seems to be the most unpredictable in terms of acceptances, so you may have just as good of a shot as anyone else. However, Stanford has the most supplemental essays out of any of the top-tier schools. At this point, about a week and a half from the absolute deadline, if you don’t have anything written, I would reconsider applying EA. The essays are a huge factor in admissions. You want to give yourself enough time to do them to the best of your ability. You might be able to pull it off, it’s up to your own judgment, but I think it’s very hard to write that many essays in several days.
