FOR THE 2300s.

anyone can answer this, but this is especially intended for the 2300+ scorers.

what sort of scores did you get on the Blue Book in the days leading up to the test?

(would be nice if you could post as many BB scores as you have and then your actual score)

i got consistent 800 M, about 700-800 W, and 650-750 CR, but this was maybe a few months before the test.

then real test: 780 m :( 790 W 760 Cr

satsux, how can you be disappointed with a 2330?

^no, he's dissapointed with the math score after the consistent 800 on the practice tests. to be honest, breaking 2350 feels rather different from 2330 won't it? anyway , satsux, what did you do in the "few months before the test" to get your writing and CR scores in the upper region of your scores. i'm pretty much scoring like you right now, and i'm really driving for the 2350 when i take it in Dec.

Not really, srrinath. Most people will never see 23xx, anyway.

^alright, i stand corrected then. in my country there seem to be a disproportionate number of 23xx, so i'm trying my best to shoot for the upper 2300s, but currently, my practice tests are not that solid yet. although "test seriousness" might have a positive effect.

My actual test score was pretty close to my average practice test scores (those varied a bit depending on my mood, amount of sleep, seriousness..etc)

It may have been a couple of points higher on CR (20-30 pts) on the actual test because I was a lot more serious that day..and I really made myself concentrate
My math score may have been a bit lower on the actual test because my first section after the essay was math and I was just waking up haha and I got kinda nervous..so I probably made some stupid mistakes.
Writing however was 40-60pts higher than my practice tests! But only because I got lucky probably (curve was more generous maybe??)

Overall..the practice tests were pretty accurate. Slight difference but not much. I always 750+ on M on the practice tests and 700 ish on WR but on the actual test it was the other way around! So it kinda balanced out..

my blue book scores on the six tests I did were:
2200 2280 2320 2300 2330 2300

actual result: 2370

What curve did you use to determine your scores, ChoklitRain?

for math I did 800=perfect, 780= 1 point off
for CR I did 2 points off = 800, 3 points off = 780
and for writing i used the curve in the book, typically choosing the middle of the range they gave me.

wow nice haha i actually got a 2330 and i kinda feel bad, because i coulda gotten atleast a 2350 if i remembered what 'unique' and 'perennial' were... :-P

@zafara17: what were your blue book scores like?

in the blue book i got 2 scores in the low 2200s in the days before I took the real thing
I guess they just served to educate me about the test structure and question style
on the real thing i got a 2390, so hey, anything can happen

@jwarlick: i sure hope so. my online course scores are around 2300-ish. but the two blue book tests i've taken so far i've gotten 2250 and 2250 (assuming a 10 essay for both, though i think i can get 12). just wondering, what did you do after your low 2200-ish scores to improve?
