For those accepted to Vassar (or attending or attended), what was your SECOND choice?

In the spirit of perhaps giving some another college to consider if Vassar doesn't work out for some reason (not accepted, finances, some other reason).

I suppose maybe some of you got into Vassar but not another school that was your first choice, but if Vassar said no, what was next for you?

For my daughter, Colorado College was it.

Middlebury - was going to apply ED II of I wasn’t accepted ED I. The three main reasons I chose Vassar over Middlebury were - 1, the easier access to a major city (New York City); 2, the theatre scene at Vassar, which seemed more vibrant and intense than Middlebury’s; and 3, related to 2 - the “vibe” at Vassar seemed much more artsy than Middlebury’s, which is a plus for me.

(BTW, not trying to diss Middle here - I LOVE the school - Vassar was just a better choice for me  .)

USC. Much larger school but she LOVES the school spirit and alumni network. The fact that her dad and grandparents, went there as did her godfather tells you how much she loved Vassar.

I was going to apply EDII at Wesleyan. Vassar and Wes were two of my top choices from the start, but everything at Vassar seemed to fit me even more perfectly than Wes :)

I think Vassar has always been my first choice, though if I don’t get in, it’d be Georgetown

Out of my accepted schools: UCLA/UC Berkeley. Before the decision came out: I don’t know. I didn’t know what to expect. But probably the same (UCLA).

Amherst was my second choice. Vassar had a way better vibe, and I definitely chose right.

For my D it was William & Mary (where she had a scholar thing). Went to back-to-back admitted students days and I knew within an hour of arriving at Vassar that would be her choice!
