For those who qualified AIME or USAMO?

How much do you spend on math problem solving daily and what math class are you taking at school?

I qualified AIME (barely), but I'm only taking Algebra II Honors (Geometry Honors when I qualified) and I don't spend much time on math problem solving daily. A month before the test I might spend about an hour a day, but not generally. I'm sure people with amazing scores spend way more time than I do.

I do AoPS, but I lost interest and did chem and bio instead...doing AIME problems is the best way to get better.

Im taking differentials at a university. Its like calc 4 for engineers. Anyway, in regards to practicing, I usually only spend a week before doing problems. Im trying to do more practice this year though. Really, I think a lot of it was skills I just picked up over the years.

I missed the USAMO floor by one point one year. I never really practiced for it. I'm in college now taking a course called Math 1b, but the year I took the AIME (sophomore year) I was in Calc II/III.

The year I was closest to making USAMO, I was taking Algebra II and I did a lot on www.artofproblemsolving.com and their books.
