forced triples

Are they as horrible as people say they are? Just got my dorm assignment yesterday and I'm in one.

Do a search and you will find plenty of info.

Are you from Vermont or Virginia Tech? If VT, they're terrible. The good news is you should eventually get a real room. Also, check out the Virginia Tech forum here for some specific questions if you'd like, it's pretty busy.

I don't know if VT (Virginia Tech?) is like BC, but at BC there's an option to de-triple the room if it really isn't going to work out. I was in a conventional triple this past year and a forced triple seemed really cramped. Most likely you'll have 2 beds bunked and the other bed lofted, with computers, desks, and chairs everywhere they can fit in the small room.

yeah im in a triple too, except i'm in an apartment. Oh my god its going to be hell isnt it

My former roommate was in a triple for his freshman year, and it worked out fine for him.

I was in a forced triple freshman year. It was pretty damn annoying at times, but study in the library and not your room. Only use the room for sleeping. For some reason, a lot of people hung out in our tiny room, which was really annoying. However, I strategically left the room messy, and it was no longer the designated party room after that.

The triples at VT tend to be rooms that were never set up to be rooms in the first place; lounges and what not that were converted at the last minute. So you don't get enough internet ports, no sink, no closet, etc. Some of the triples were actually set up that way and that wouldn't be that bad, but the ones that WEREN'T set up for that are absolutely terrible. But like I said, as kids drop out you can get their rooms.
