Fordham Lincoln Center

I've been reading a lot on thee forums and nobody seems to have anything good to say about Lincoln Center. I am a straight guy if that is important. I have been accepted there and am going there regardless of these forums, but i would like some confirmation that the people and the campus are not as bad as this site is making them both seem? I am not really into theater in particular, although I know that is a major draw for the campus, but surely there must be some other people who are not there for a theater major? I mean don't get me wrong, i don't hate theater people, its just not my sort of thing. Thanks for any replies.

I’ll be attending this fall and my friend is currently a sophomore. She’s studying international relations so she’s busy with her French and Mandarin classes. She’s always writing papers, but she’s really, really happy. She commutes from Staten Island, which is crazy long if you’re not familiar with NYC. But it doesn’t bother her because she loves Fordham so much. Hope this helped and maybe we’ll meet this fall :)

ETA: She also spent the whole summer abroad in China and had a fantastic time.

This is the second post where someone is wondering if LC is as bad as they have heard… where are you getting this from? LC is a wonderful campus, even for straight guys who are not into theater. I think I read that there are a lot more girls than guys there. And not everyone is into theater. My daughter usually goes to shows by herself because no one in her suite cares about theater.

You are in a wonderful location for all kinds of things. Sure, it’s not a traditional campus, no big quad, only a small bit of green space, no sports. Depends what makes you happy.

The whole dorm is suite style apartments. Your own kitchen. Sharing a bathroom with only two or three others. Lots to do within Fordham and outside.

My daughter is thrilled to be at LC and woudn’t want to be anywhere else.

My daughter is poly sci major and loves it. Did you get housing?

Yes, I don’t understand where you have been hearing negative comments about LC. And nobody cares if you are a straight guy-- what is that supposed to mean? My daughter loves LC. Plenty to do, as LeftyLou says, in Lincoln Center.

I appreciate all the responses. Thanks. And @glass harmonica, I didn’t mean anything by the comment about being a straight guy. I was just adding context. I was not being prejudiced if that was what you were implying. One of my best friends right now is gay and I would never be so discriminatory.

Can you get there for a visit?
